SMILES ARE OUR GOAL!

Triage Appointment

A dental triage appointment is an initial screening designed to assess a patient’s urgent dental needs. During this visit, a licensed dental provider will evaluate your symptoms, perform a limited oral examination, and determine the severity of your condition. This may include taking necessary X-rays and reviewing your dental and medical history.

The goal of a triage appointment is to identify and prioritize immediate dental concerns—such as pain, infection, or decay—and develop a treatment plan or refer you for further care as needed.

Please note: This appointment does not include a full cleaning or routine dental exam.

Fillings Or Extractions.

This appointment is scheduled when a patient requires restorative or surgical dental treatment following an initial evaluation or dental triage visit. Based on your provider’s recommendations, this visit will focus on one of the following procedures:

  • Dental Fillings – Used to treat cavities and restore tooth function by removing decay and filling the area with a safe, durable material with the use of local anesthetic.

  • Tooth Extractions – Performed when a tooth is severely damaged, infected, or causing complications. This procedure involves the safe removal of the affected tooth with the use of local anesthetic.

Your provider will discuss the procedure with you beforehand, including aftercare instructions and any follow-up needs.

Please note: Only patients who have completed a dental triage appointment and received a treatment plan are eligible for this visit.

Dental Bus

For patients with more complex dental needs, we partner with the Baptist On Mission Dental Bus. The bus visits quarterly throughout the year and is fully staffed by volunteer dental professionals. This longstanding collaboration supports our mission to provide essential dental care to individuals who might otherwise go without treatment.

Hygiene Appointment

A dental hygiene appointment focuses on preventive care to support your overall oral health. During this visit, a licensed dental hygienist will:

  • Perform a thorough cleaning to remove plaque, tartar, and surface stains

  • Polish your teeth

  • Provide personalized oral hygiene education and tips

  • Apply fluoride treatment, if recommended

  • Assess the health of your gums and screen for signs of periodontal disease, and further dental needs

This appointment is essential for maintaining healthy teeth and gums.
